My primary specialties are working with complex trauma, social anxiety, and concerns related to spirituality. My journey to becoming a therapist came about after a combination of experiences. I personally reaped the benefits of therapy during college when I was struggling with anxiety related to overcoming the perils of perfectionism and managing the expectations that I placed on myself as a student athlete.
What I love about being a counselor is helping clients to unlearn unhelpful patterns while watching them rediscover their strengths. It’s a joy to watch clients experience richer relationships and become courageous to move towards success instead of trying to avoid failure. Three words that describe my therapeutic philosophy include compassion, connection, and clarity. I utilize a trauma informed lens and incorporate EMDR and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) into my work. This approach seems to allow clients to get to the root of their thoughts and beliefs that impact everyday functioning. For those who want to incorporate their faith into their work, this approach blends nicely to accommodate that.
A native to Colorado, I enjoy exploring what this beautiful state has to offer. In my free time, you will find me riding horses, riding dirt bikes, reading a good book, and spending time with my husband.
